Anaesthesia & Pain Therapy
Our anaesthesia team accompanies you before, during and after surgery – with the anaesthesia technique that suits you and your procedure, and pain therapy that gets you back on your feet quickly.
Good pain management starts during the operation itself: if it's well managed, you need less anaesthetic during surgery and have significantly less pain afterwards.
Anaesthesia techniques
- General anaesthesia
- All modern general anaesthesia techniques – with continuous monitoring of anaesthetic depth, so unwanted moments of awareness are excluded.
- Spinal anaesthesia
- A single injection of anaesthesia near the spinal cord – you can remain awake if you wish, but feel nothing of the procedure.
- Nerve blocks
- Targeted blocking of individual nerves or nerve bundles for surgery on the shoulder, arm and leg – also provides pain relief for the first few hours after surgery.
Pain therapy after surgery
- Individually graded
- From tablets and drops through infusions to patient-controlled analgesia (PCA), where you control your own pain relief.
